Happy half term!
What a week to end the half term on!
We started on Monday with Year 4 and their performance of 'Little Red Riding Hood' adapted from Roald Dahl's Revolting Rhymes! Having been given the 'tiny' challenge to put on a 'play-in-a-day' Year 4 rose to it! Many children spent the weekend learning words and lyrics and children performed Red Riding Hood 3 times across Monday so that all the school got to see it! Wow! They were impressive and showed huge amounts of talent! Mr Wilding can't wait until they are in Year 6 for their end of school performance! The children's behaviour was excellent all day and the school values of resilience, determination and working together completely shone through! What a way to end our focus on Roald Dahl - Year 4 should be so proud of themselves!
Wednesday gave another opportunity for all our children to show their Godwin values - with very impressive performances in Harvest assembly. Each year group worked together to perform a song. The level of singing was excellent, with clear articulation of words, children singing in parts, solos and small groups. Thank you for all your kind donations - as you can see from the pictures there were a lot of gifts given for our Harvest festival and these will be shared with a local charity to make Christmas a little easier for those in need.
Songs sung were as follows:
Year R - Mr Scarecrow
Year 1 - It's Harvest Time
Year 2 - Vegetables and Fruit
Year 3 - Lunchtime Queue
Year 4 - Shotgun
Year 5 - Autumn Days - featuring a solo by Goodness
Year 6 - Harvest of Love
The half term ended with Parents' consultations. It was so good to see so many of you come in and meet your child's teacher. If anyone missed their appointment please contact the office to make a new one in the new half term.
