From Monday 6th September, all children will be expected to be in school full time and attendance will be tracked as normal.
If your child is asked to self-isolate because they have tested positive for Covid19 please let the school know - we will be able to feed this into our attendance data and it will not be used as evidence of non-attendance. Similarly, if we send a child home to be tested because they have symptoms of Covid19 this will not be an issue. It is our current belief, that children will not be asked to self-isolate for any other reason than if they have symptoms or have tested positive (this may change during the sumemr).
It is vital that children who display any signs of coronavirus are tested quickly. With a negative test result, children will be able to return to school as soon as they feel well enough. Without a negative test result we will be asking children to self-isolate whilst they have symptoms and for at least 10 days for the child. Other children from the class, or who have been in contact with the child, will be asked to take a PCR test but not to self-isolate.
We will not be focusing on 100% attendance next year as it is vital that we all follow rules regarding self-isolation and coronavirus symptoms to keep the whole school community safe.
