We have been asked by the borough that, with the exception of those that are medically exempt, anyone collecting or dropping off children in the playground should wear a face covering whilst in the playground. This applies to adults and secondary school pupils. In addition, staff who are on playground duties will be wearing face coverings - usually in the format of a visor.
During the day, members of staff may wear face coverings when teaching or working with children in the classroom. This will be particularly true for those who are working in small groups or need to get close to children (listening to readers etc.) but may also occur during whole class situations.
Current guidance says that children do not need to wear face coverings in school. If your child wears a face covering whilst travelling to school, they should be taught how to remove this safely and be given a bag which they can seal to place the covering in when they get to school. They should not place worn masks in their pockets.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
