Homework will be sent out from early September.
It is still expected that reading happens at least 5 times a week and that this is recorded in the children's reading records. Successful weekly reading will result in a sticker on the reading rocket and the associated rewards.
We are still asking that you practise the children's spellings with them regularly, and we are aiming to have these to you before October.
Maths homework (and English for Years 5 and 6) will go out on a Tuesday and be expected to be in school, ready to be marked, the following Tuesday. Children will mark their homework as part of their learning time so it is VITAL that it is in school on a Tuesday morning. As the office will be closed, if a child forgets to bring it in you will not be able to bring it in in the morning.
We are sad that we will not be able to run homework clubs on Monday and Tuesdays in their current format and are looking at other ways we can support with homework. In line with this, we would ask for you to develop the children's understanding of the importance of homework and support them in completing this weekly. We will be adjusting the homework reward system to help encourage all children to do their homework regularly with more frequent rewards.
Whilst we will maintain the maths books for homework, the English homework may be in the form of sheets.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
