Some children who start at Godwin already have a diagnosis of a special need or disability e.g. speech and language needs or a diagnosis of Autism or ADHD
Some children will be identified by school staff and referred for specialist assessment
Some children’s’ needs will be identified through tracking systems, routine tests and assessments and day to day observation by the class teacher, teaching assistants and the SENCo. These children may have needs which can be met through differentiated teaching, small group work and other support offered by school staff and, sometimes, a little bit of extra work at home.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
