We have a Nursery Assessment Resource Provision (NARP) where children aged 3-4 who have been identified as having very high levels of special needs come to attend a specialist nursery setting. This is so they can be assessed for an EHC Plan and so that complex needs can be met e.g. specialist speech and language programmes and medical care. Most of the children who attend the NARP transfer to specialist schools after completing their year in NARP.
If you think your child may be eligible for a place in the NARP, please contact the school for further details on the assessment and admission process.
There is no ARP or dedicated specialist provision at Godwin for children in Reception to Year 6.
Occasionally a child from reception to year 6 may require specialist support for difficulties with emotional or behavioural needs. In these situations, the suggestion may be made to parents or carers that the child attends a different, specialist, setting for a period of time, where they can be supported by specialist staff to understand their feelings and manage their behaviour. In these instances, the child remains a pupil at Godwin Primary school and will remain on role at Godwin until they have completed the intervention and are ready to return to school on a full time basis.
