Week ending 27th November
As the winter colds and bugs set in, our attendance at school is beginning to drop. Please think carefully before keeping a child off school - minor headaches, sore throats and sniffles can be dealt with at school. With Christmas around the corner the school has lots of fun learning activities planned. Saying that, well done to 1D who got the highest attendance last week with 99.3% attendance - meaning one child missed 1/2 a day. 464 children achieved 100% attendance for the whole week.
Children continue to work hard and stay on green. It was a pleasure for Mrs Phillips to award 3 gold awards today! I was also pleased to hear many parents this week talking about how they have adapted the system for use at home. Our Stay on Green winners this week were 2S and 2D in KS1, 3Hi and 6M in KS2. Enjoy your Green time next week! Linked to our behaviour we have also learnt about 'Integrity' this week - doing the right thing even when no one is looking. How many children can you catch showing integrity at home? Doing their homework without being nagged, brushing their teeth, keeping rooms tidy?
Week ending 20th November
For the second week in a row 2S and 4D both achieved 100% attendance! Well done to all the children in the classes, and their families! 5J also achieved 100% attendance - well done to them too!
Our winners of Stay on Green this week were 4D and, for the first time, 5E! Last week many of our Stay on Green winners enjoyed playing games. 1D and 1K teamed up in the KS1 hall to play party games.
Week ending 13th November
4 classes achieved 100% attendance last week! ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT! Well done to 2S, 4D, 5T and 6W. 496 individual children had 100% attendance this week, and their names have all gong into the end of term raffle for the family prize.
Children across the school have impressed with their behaviour this week. With children going out on trips across the school, many people have commented on how well they have represented us and their exemplary behaviour. Valence house commented that our Year 1 children were 'the best children in Dagenham' and made time to ensure the teachers were praised for their behaviour!
Consequently we had 4 classes winning the Stay on Green award in KS1 this week - 1D, 1T, 2D and 2S. Well done to 4W and 6M in KS2.
Week ending 6th November
What a fabulous start to the second half of term - 502 children had 100% attendance this week - EXCELLENT! All your names have gone into the raffle to be drawn at the end of term.
4T won the attendance certificate with 99.6% attendance - meaning 1 child missed 1 session. Brilliant.
The Stay on Green awards were close this week - 5J one in Upper school, 4T in lower KS2 and 1K and 1T drew in Lower school. All these classes are proudly displaying their rosette above their doors, and are planning how to use their Green time next week.
