Miss Spooner was delighted to take 21 Year 4 pupils to the borough's Music Festival this morning. Held at Village Infant School, Godwin pupils joined pupils from 8 other schools to celebrate music and singing.
The Year 4 children have been practising their songs weekly during Thursday lunchtime. They gave beautiful performances of 'I have a song to sing' - which started with a duet and built into the whole choir singing - and 'A Million Dreams' from The Greatest Showman. Both songs gave children the opportunity to sing solos, duets and in small groups which they relished. Children joined in other songs with the other schools and were delighted to see an old friend who had left in Year 2 singing with another school. We were also pleased to see Dagenham Park's band that included our ex pupil Alfie Mann singing!
As expected, Godwin pupils behaved beautifully making us exceptionally proud with their Green behaviour. Children were each rewarded with 100 team points for showing such amazing behaviour!
A big thank you to Miss Mortimer and Mrs Weedon, one of our grandparent helpers, for accompanying us to the festival. Without adult support we would not be able to get involved in these things!
The choir will next perform as part of Godwin's Got Talent in the last week of term!
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
