This week our Reception children had their first full week at school staying all day including lunchtime. They managed spectacularly well and it was lovely to see them sitting beautifully and joining in our Celebration assembly on Friday. Both classes have started their time in school brilliantly and were awarded with 'on time' certificates as every child in Reception had come to school on time last week! Well done all Blue and Green class (and their parents for working so hard). Green class also came third with attendance, whilst Blue class came 1st with 99.7% attendance! Keep up the great work Reception!
Our new NARP children were also welcomed into school this week and are settling in well.
In main school there has been much learning and KS1 sharing assembly was full of children celebrating their writing, maths and reading. It was great to see children bringing in their 'Mischief Maker' awards from reading at the library over the summer! Well done Chloe and Frankie who proudly showed off their medals and certificates. Please send medals in with any other children who are celebrating.
Year 3 began their Royal Ballet journey this week, starting lessons with the Royal Ballet. They ended the week with a visit to Dagenham Park to see some ballet performances and made us proud with their behaviour walking to and from in adverse weather conditions.
Meanwhile Year 6 began their small group teaching sets with teachers across the year group for maths and grammar lessons - starting their journey to achieving great results in their Year 6 tests.
Across the school children are engaging in the Roald Dahl reading challenge. In particular Year 4 have done lots of extra work on Roald Dahl and are keen to discuss the books they are reading and facts they have found out. Thank you for the families that have sent emails to email@example.com - it is great to share this with you. We look forward to hearing more from you all.
