This week saw the launch of 'TT Rockstars' to our Year 4 and 6 children. 'TT Rockstars' in an online app that gives children the chance to practise, and develop, their recall of their multiplication and division facts. The children have got going quickly and the first certificates were rewarded this week. Gabriel in Year 6 won first certificate and Vejas in Year 4 - being rewarded for the most games played! Meanwhile Sidnie and Chadrac in Year 6 are in competition to beat Miss Spooner's speed! Watch this space Years 2, 3 and 5 - your log-ons and passwords are on the way!
Meanwhile we were delighted with the second week of Cycling workshops. Having had so many children want to take part in week 1 we were able to run a second course this week, meaning we have many more children in Years 5 and 6 who can now ride their bikes safely and are allowed to ride their bikes to school. We were complimented on all of the children's hard work, manners and excellent behaviour by the team that deliver the cycling lessons - Well done!
Congratulations go to Logan H, Gabija, Leyton, Maryam for achieving their Level 1 awards and Katie, Diana, Amelia, Zala, Hugas, Caleb, Erwin, Idris, Bailey, Daniil, Lacey W, Zach, Danil, Martynas, Goodness, Sadie and Aize for completing their Level 2 awards - SUPERSTARS!
Children and teachers are continuing to share their love of Roald Dahl books and stories and we thank you for the photos that have been sent in. Sidnie in Year 6 shocked Miss Spooner with heis speedy reading of the 'McDonald's' book of the BFG - reading it in less than a day! Meanwhile in Year 2 we have a budding author - Lacey in 2K has begun writing a story using the Roald Dahl characters - we are looking forward to reading her final work.
In class this week Year 1 have been using papier mache to create the 'face' of their clown marks in preparation for their 'Circus' day on Monday. Watch this space for information on how the day goes. Year 2 have been learning about famous people from the past and can confidently talk about the exploits of Neil Armstrong, Christopher Columbus and modern day explorer Laura Decker. It was great to see them putting their drama skills to use and creating a conscience for Christopher Columbus to decided whether he should continue his journey of exploration or return to the comforting shores of home.
Finally a big well done to 4T for the 100% attendance this week! Great learning will come from great attendance!
