All children are given the opportunity to develop their oracy skills through whole and group discussions. We advocate the use of talk partners and, at the beginning of the year, time is spent with the children setting up rules for talk partner work. We encourage peer-marking and work which encourages the children to speak and listen to each other.
One of our Nursery Nurses is a drama expert and is working across the school to help children 'find their voice'. This includes whole class work in Nursery and small group work in Reception. She also runs half-termly projects with year groups 1-6.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
