Attendance

Our target for attendance is 96%, any child who is at school less than this is missing too much education.

The Government categorises attendance below 90% persistent absence.  Children's attendance and punctuality are monitored regularly by the school and the borough attendance officer.  Parents of children who are in danger of not meeting expectations in these areas may be required to attend a meeting at the school to discuss how these can be improved and any support needed. 

90% attendance = 19 days missed in a year, which is almost 4 weeks of lessons (on average 1/2 day every week).

Children and staff who attend school every day in a half term will have their names displayed on our attendance tree in the main corridor.
