In the first part of the summer term, we will be learning about significant people including the Wright Brothers and the first flight, Amelia Earhart, Amy Johnson and Neil Armstrong.
We are putting our sewing skills to the test this half term by design and making our own fabric faces. We will explore different fabrics, ways of joining and developing our cutting skills before making our final products. Look out for the photos!
In science, we are continuing our learning about plants and learning to name and labels parts of a tree. We have planted runner beans and sunflowers and observing how they grow. We will be investigating what plants need to grow.
In PSHE, we are learning what makes a good friend, what bullying is and how to help someone if they are being bullied.
Having already learnt about the religions of Christianity and Islam, we are continuing to explore our understanding of different religions by learning about Hinduism this half term. We are focusing on what is important to them, how they worship and looking at some key artefacts.
In the Spring Term, we have been learning about different materials and describing their properties. Find different materials around the room you are in and use the words to describe them.
In the Autumn term, we learnt that London is the capital city of England. We are going to become historians and have been looking at pictures to see how London is different now from in 1666. We are learning about the Great Fire of London - how it started, how it spread and how it was put out.
In science, we have been learning about different animals. We have described the body parts of animals and found out what they eat.
Darwin, the tortoise from Year 6 paid us a visit and we asked Mr Wilding questions about looking after Darwin.
