Monday 9th June
Yay! We arrived at just gone 2 and were met by Mark, Steve and Justin who took us to Trewern via the minibuses.

We are all enjoying the beautiful views on the journey and spotting the animals. Some of us are planning to bring some animals home with us .....we have said no!

Once we got here, we practised the fire drill - Mrs Gill said we were the best group doing the fire drill in 21 years!

We then explored and got our bearings before dinner.

After a dinner of soup, pizza and apple crumble we then played outside before going for a walk in the local area.
We walked through a graveyard and learnt all about the eccentric Richard Booth who thought he was the King of Hay. He wanted to set up Hay as a country and have a horse as the Prime Minister.
Children came back to a drink, story and are now settled in bed!
We have given out values certificated for taking responsibility so far (one of the boys was of great help sorting out the others in his room with their bedding), thoughtfulness (one of the girls gave her anti-sick bands to another child feeling poorly) and resilience (making up those beds was tough for some).
Children have shared their gratitudes including:
- arriving at Trewern safely;
- going somewhere new;
- being with their friends;
- getting the opportunity;
- the fact that they had played their online game;
- all the wildlife around;
They talked about learning that 'not all soup has lumps', 'how to do their bedsheets independently' and that someone 'likes custard'.
