Thursday 12th June
Good morning,
You can tell it is the last full day here ....everyone is on go slow and we had to actually wake all the children this morning at 7.30. They all slowly emerged and we started the day with a chapter of our book.
Breakfast was very quiet and it is only the arrival of the Trewern instructors that have got us clearing tables and moving in preparation for our last day of activities. The weather is not so great at the moment - grey and rainy. However, nothing will stop us having lots of fun and enjoying our day.

After a dinner of tomato soup, pasta bake and choc ices the children are now packing in preparation for the journey home tomorrow with hopefully time for a walk before bedtime.
Today has been a wet, soggy one (there are many layers of clothing drying in the dry room) but the children have all had fun and have been debating what the best activity of the week has been.
Group 1 ended their week with climbing and a long, soggy walk through the countryside. They have been discussing the '5 ways to wellbeing; and how appreciating nature can help develop their wellbeing. Steve has also pointed out to them, that whilst they are thoroughly spoilt by nature here on the border of Wales, there is also lots to appreciate at home if they just take the time and open their eyes.
Group 2, meanwhile, were out caving and protected from the bad weather (which Mrs Brand was particularly pleased about). They faced all the challenges presented to them and came home soggy and smiling.

Groups 3 and 4 have spent the day 'messing about on the river', learning to canoe and playing games in the water. Even our reluctant water babies ended up having lots of fun splashing about and jumping off the canoe into the water.
