"The more that you read, the more that you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you will go!" Dr Suess
We have started this year with READING, READING and more READING. It will be the key to our success this year. Story time has become super exciting as we read the 'Author of the Moment' books. Mrs Peita-Read has shared some of her favourite books with the class and children are welcomed to bring their own favourite books to be read to the class as well!
Rowena Reddalot is our class mascot. She will be visiting all the children's homes and loves reading too! Make sure you read to her as often as possible. Please remember to fill in her journal and return her to class every Thursday so the next child can take her home. There is a mystery book that no one is allowed to see until they take it home. Please keep it a surprise!
Our Reading Rockets have started, it is important that you listen to your child read at least five times each week. They will change their books on Friday and get to put a sticker on our class Reading Rocket if they have five signatures in their Reading Record. When they collect ten stickers they will get a special surprise!
Every Tuesday is our Library day. Reading with and to your children is one of the most important things you can do with your children. Please take some time to read their library book before the following week.
Before children work with numbers up to 100, it is important that children are secure in their number bonds up to 10. These Numberblock videos can be found on BBC iPlayer: https://bbc.in/2ZHvNtl Subscribe for more Numberblocks: https://goo.gl/rF32S8.
