PSHE is a school subject through which pupils develop the knowledge, skills and attributes they need to keep themselves healthy and safe, and prepared for life and work. Well-delivered PSHE programmes have an impact on both academic and non-academic outcomes for pupils, particularly the most vulnerable and disadvantaged.
From September 2020, the RHE (Relationships and Health Education) aspects of the subject became statutory. We have consulted with the Local Authority and PSHE Association to ensure our scheme of work provides the best possible opportunity for our pupils to study this crucial area of learning.
At Godwin, PSHE lessons are timetabled weekly for classes across the school.
Please note whilst every effort is made to follow the PSHE curriculum , PSHE lessons are also the perfect opportunity to deal with issues that arise in the class - either in school or outside of school, and thus content may differ from the overview.
