Maths
This week we are continuing to learn about shape. Today we will be focusing on lines of symmetry. What do you think symmetry means? Can you find any shapes that have lines of symmetry around your house? Have a look at the information below to help you find out what it means.
How can you tell if something is symmetrical?
Follow the video below, pausing and repeating any parts you are not sure about, before completing the worksheet. Remember to also answer the flashback 4 and true or false questions.
English
Today we will be writing animal fact files. There are some examples below for you to get an idea of what a fact file is.
You can either research about an animal of your choice or invent your own animal.
Things to include
We would like you to write the information you have found in full sentences in paragraphs about each topic of information. Remember not to just copy and paste your research - make sure you understand what you are writing! Always ask an adult before researching on the internet.
You may want to complete more than one for example you could pick an area such as the rain forest and complete fact files for a range of different animals.
There is a template below or you can create your own fact file.
Handwriting
The focus for today is speed and fluency however you need to make sure that you writing is still neat, forming letters and joins correctly so that you can read it!. Often when writing notes, abbreviations are used to make it quicker. Make sure that your hands are warmed up properly so they don't start aching! Match the words on the sheet to the abbreviations. Then we would like you to practice writing some notes of your own. This could be asking someone some questions and you write down their answers in notes or watching a video where you could write down key facts. Remember you are writing with more speed but this doesn't mean you should rush. Keep it neat!
Bonjour!
We will be practicing our French today looking at the weather, food and the body.
Below are a selection of activities and powerpoints for you to try out, you don't have to do them all!. If you are struggling with how to pronounce the words, try using the speaker on google translate or there are videos on YouTube - ask an adult to help you.
Just have a practice and see how many words or phrases you can remember!
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
