Maths
In maths today we will be practicing AM and PM. Do you know what these stand for? Have a go at completing the worksheet below.
Write out all of the hour times from 1am - midnight. Now write what the time would show on a 24 hour clock. e.g 1am - 01:00
What time comes after 23:59? Ask someone to give you times and show the 24 hour time.
Now have a go at the worksheet :)
English
Metaphors are another great way to create imagery in writing. A metaphor is a word or a phrase used to describe something as if it is something else.
Today we would like you to have a go at the 'What you are - using metaphors' activity on pages 7-9.
Remember to share what you get up to on the blog :)
Science
How is water transported in plants?
How do you think water is transported in plants?
Have a look at the explanation below. Were you right?
The process of water transportation is the way water moves through a plant.
The roots absorb water from the soil.
The stem transports water to the leaves.
Water evaporates from the leaves.
This evaporation causes more water to be sucked up the stem.
The water is sucked up the stem like water being sucked up through a straw.
Watch a video here showing the process with a white carnation. https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/class-clips-video/science-ks1-ks2-ivys-plant-workshop-how-does-water-get-from-the-roots-to-the-leaves/zdtfjhv

Explain what you have learnt to someone else.
The parts of a flower
Can you name any parts of a flower? Have a look at the powerpoint below to find out. Then have a look at the picture of the flower and label all of the parts.
