Good morning Year 4,
Well it looks like this week is set to be a hot one! If you are out enjoying the sun, remember what you have learnt about how to stay safe in the sun.
Maths
Start today's maths lesson by having a go at the flashback 4.
Today we will be learning about estimating money. This is a useful skill to learn to help you when buying items when shopping. What does estimate mean? Why do we need to estimate? What does approximately mean? Watch the video below to learn about estimating money alongside the worksheet.
Finish off by answering the true or false questions.
English
Today we would like you to have a go at the following activities:
Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!
Spelling
The sheet below has sentences where there is a spelling mistake circled. Write the correct spelling in the box and when you have finished check you answers. If you get any wrong, practice writing them out 3 times. See if there any any ways to help you remember them.
Handwriting
Today's handwriting is revising the 's' join. Spend some time practicing the joins at the top of the sheet and then complete the table. Then, write some sentences with the words in the table. When you have finished, look back over your work and identify 3 joins that you could improve and have a go at them again. Remember to upload your work the blog.
Superheros Return!
Returning back to our work on superheros, today we will be designing our logo and writing out comic strip.
To start we need to do some research on different logos. What makes a good logo? How can you make your eye catching and memorable?
When you have look at different logos, you need to begin to design your own logo. We would like you to create 2 different design ideas. You need to explain explain why you have designed your logo in that way. Think carefully about the shape and colours you will use. Then you need to decide on your final design and draw it onto your shield. Explain why you chose that design over the other one.
The final part is telling your story through a comic strip. Have a look at some comics to see how they are designed. Plan your story out carefully so they fit the boxes.
Take a picture and share onto the blog.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
