Today's maths lesson is all about comparing decimals. To compare a number means to look at the differences between numbers, quantities or values to decide if it is greater than, smaller than or equal to another quantity.

You will need to use your understanding of place value of decimals to help you work out which decimal is greater. Which digit can we use to compare these decimals? Will this always be the case?

Writing
Today will be free writing for you to write your story. You may want to plan your story first. This could be done on a story map, jotting down ideas or talking to someone about it. Think carefully about what to include and check that your story makes sense. Remember you will need a beginning, a middle (which might include a problem) and the end. The problem doesn't always have to be completely solved at the end. You may like to leave it on a cliffhanger to build suspense for another story!

- expanded noun phrases

Healthy Eating
As well as daily exercise, it important to eat the right food as part of a healthy balanced diet. Can you remember the different food groups? Can you name some foods that go into each group? Below is the Eatwell plate for you to look at and a quiz to try.
Activity 1
- List your favourite foods or foods that you have eaten today or this week. Which are healthy, not so healthy or both? Remember everything is okay as long as it is part of a balanced diet.
- Think about the changes you could make. Do you need more or less of a food group. Should you try to drink more water.
Activity 2
Choose from
- Create a restaurant menu that shows a balanced meal. Include a starter, main meal, dessert and drinks.
- Plan a week of meals that could be made at home. Include breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks and drinks.
- Create a packed lunch and school dinner that you would have at school for the week.
Discuss your food choices with someone else. Upload your work to the blog and explain your choices.
