Maths
As usual, we would like you to start by completing the questions on the Flashback 4. Today's math's is all about problem solving using multiplication. Watch the video below and then have a go at the worksheet below. Finish off by marking the questions and workout where you made mistakes if you got any wrong. Could you make up some of your own word problems?

English
For the next two weeks we will be working through the 'Amazing Aliens' unit by Maria Richards. To start, read through the alien key facts on Page 3. Tell an adult what you have learnt about them. Then we would like you to have a go at the two activities explained on pages 4 and 5. Remember to share you work on the Year 4 blog.
Handwriting
The joins we are focusing on today are 'tt', 'll' and 'bb. Warm up you hands and make sure you are ready. Then spend some time practicing the joins. You could write on the sheet or if you would like more practice use another bit of paper. When you have written the joins, pick 3 that you need to improve. Think of the 2 different words with these joins in and write out these words 3 times.
Finally, write some sentences using these words.
Bravery and Resilience
What do the words 'bravery' and 'resilience'mean? This week we would like you to show your bravery and challenge yourself. This could be trying something new or something that you find tricky. You may need to push yourself out of your comfort zone. Discuss with an adult or older sibling what this means to you and find a suitable challenge. Discuss how it might feel pushing yourself out of your comfort zone but also why it is important to do this. There are times in school where you show resilience. It may be trying out for standing in front of your team when going for vice team captains; trying a sport or activity that you find difficult; answering a question in class where you might not feel confident, or even asking for help. Think about where have you shown resilience in school? How did it make you feel?
Have a look through the powerpoint below about bravery and resilience and then have a go at the worksheets. Let us know your challenge on the Purple Mash blog and update us with your progress throughout the week. Photos would also be great too!
