Spring Term
Pancake Day
The children enjoyed tasting pancakes on pancake day. They were soft, sweet and very yummy. They voted as to whether or not they liked the taste of them. All of the children voted yes!

The year of the rabbit!
Rumble in the Jungle
Our main topic for the spring term is, ‘Rumble in the Jungle’.
We enjoyed dressing up as different jungle animals and explorers in the role play area. Can you guess whose behind the mask?
As part of our work on jungles, Mrs Blade bought in her pet snake Sid! The children were amazed by Sid’s skin and the different colours and patterns that they could see.
Winter
The children have also been learning about the season winter. We talked about the weather changing and how some animals, such as hedgehogs sleep throughout the winter months.
We made some ice by putting water into ice cube trays and then putting them in the freezer. The following day we explored the ice cubes, we spoke about what the ice felt like and watched it slowly turn back into water.
Autumn Term
All About Me
Our main topic for the autumn term is, ‘All About Me’.
We started our topic work by painting self portraits. We each looked in the mirror and talked about what we could see. We learnt about our different facial features and their colours. We also learnt how although some of our facial features were the same as each other, they didn’t always look the same.
We made faces using play dough.
Autumn
The children have also been learning about the season autumn. We talked about the weather changing, how it gets colder, windier and rainier, and how most ofthe leaves on the trees change colour and fall to the ground.
We made our very own autumn tress using autumnal colours.
Diwali
The children learnt about the festival Diwali. This is also known as the festival of light. They learnt how people celebrate Diwali by wearing special clothes, eating and sharing food and setting off fireworks.
The children made firework pictures using glitter and glue.
We have been busy getting ready for Christmas.

We had so much fun in the snow today! During this cold weather, please remember to bring your child in with a warm coat, hat and gloves that are labelled with their name.
We were also lucky enough to watch Goldilocks in pantomime, we laughed, sang and had lots of fun!
