This week's learning in maths is all about money. Why do we use money? What coins do we have? We will start the week by looking at pence and pounds. Watch the video below and then have a go at the worksheet. Remember you can pause the video at any time and go back to any bits you aren't sure about.
As before, there are the flashback 4 and true or false questions to have a go at too.
We are continuing with the lockdown creative writing this unit with the aim of writing your own lockdown poem later in the week. To begin with you need to remind yourself of the work you did last week and re-read the poems. Then we would like you to have a go at the following activities.
Spelling - there, their and they're
These words are homophones (words that sound the same but have different meanings). This means that in your writing you need to look at the sentence carefully to make sure you are using the right one. Have a read of the powerpoint below and then have a go at using the correct homophone in the sentences on the worksheet. Then try writing some of your own sentences.

Before we start writing, we need to warm up those hands!. Have a go at some fingers exercises and don't forgot the wrists.
Once your hands are thoroughly warmed up, we need to think about how we can get our neatest handwriting. Are you sitting on a chair at a table properly. Is your pencil sharp?
Today we would like you to have a go at the sheet below. When you have finished the task, write your own sentences using the words on the sheet.
If you could have any super power what would it be?
When you think of a superhero, what do you think of? Is it someone like Spiderman or Wonder Woman? Or is there someone that you think might be a real life superhero? Over the past few months there have been thousands of people who have worked like superheros to keep us safe and the country going. From nurses and doctors; teachers in school for key workers; delivery drivers making sure people had food; shop workers working hard to put food on the shelves and many, many more! They have all worked so hard and shown true superpower qualities!
We are going to be designing our own superheros to create our own superhero comic. The first thing we need to do is look at what different superheros look like. What is their superpower? With an adult, look at different pictures of superheros. You might even find some in books.
To help you draw your superhero look at the powerpoint below. These are some well known superheros but you could change the design to fit your superhero. You might want to base it on a real life superhero. You need to think carefully about your choices of colour and the material of their outfit - what would be suitable for a superhero. Do they need any accessories? We would like you to draw your superhero, label the parts and do some writing to explain your choices.
What do you think the important qualities of a superhero are? What makes them special? You could also explain this on your design.
Now, you need to begin to think about your story. Is there another character? Is it a villain or could you have a squad of superheros. If so, you need to repeat this process to create more characters.
