Maths
Have a go at the arithmetic questions below and then mark your answers. Read the question carefully and make sure you choose the most suitable method for the question as there may be more than one way. Ask an adult if there is something you are stuck on or post on the blog.
We would also like you to spend some time on TimesTables Rockstars and try to improve your rock score!

As the final day of the school year, we would like you to reflect on your time in Year 4. We would like you to have a go at writing an acrostic poem about school. This is where the first letter of each line spells out a word e.g
G
O
D
W
I
N
or
Y
E
A
R
F
O
U
R
Have a look below at some examples. It can be about anything you have enjoyed or learnt this year.
Please share on the Year 4 blog :)
Handwriting
We will be focusing on the letters 'v' and 'k', looking particularly at the joins 'va', 'vo','ke' and 'ko'. Once you have warmed up, spend time practicing these joins before moving on to them practicing in words. In the first column, you need to practice the join making sure you are joining accurately. In the second column you need to write the word with more speed but it is important that you do not rush! Finally, ask someone else to give you these words in sentences and write them out.
Topic
As we approach the end of the school year, it is the perfect time for reflection. Think about everything we have done in Year 4, either when we were in school all together or when we have been learning from home during lockdown.
Some things to think about
We would like you to create something to share your year. It could be a poster you put in a memory box or ask an adult to record you sharing your thoughts.
A particular highlight for us was how you worked so hard for your nativity performance in the church and to see all your smiling faces at the end! We were all very proud!
If you would like, there is a link below to making a graduation hat. When you are older, you may have a graduation day when you pass your university course. It is a ceremony with everyone to celebrate this.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
