Maths
Today we will be comparing mass. Yesterday we looked at measuring mass so if you need a bit more practice, look back over yesterday's video.
What does compare mean? When have we compared before in maths?
Watch the video and then complete the worksheet.
Find different items around your house and have a go at comparing the mass.
English
We would like you to create a travel brochure for a country of your choice, or you could even make up your own country. If you complete the holiday lesson from last week, you could do one of the places you 'visited'. What is a travel brochure and why do people use them? Can you find out what is included in one?
Some of the things we would like you to include:
If you are researching a country ask an adult before going on the internet. Make sure you understand what you are writing so don't just copy from a website. You could also 'visit' the country on https://earth.google.com/web/ (use street view icon) so you have an idea of what the place is like.
You will need to write in full sentences in paragraphs, grouping information about the same topic together. Write clearly as you are trying to persuade someone to visit.
You may want to design your own but there is a template below if you need it.
We would love to see what you get up to!
Handwriting
In handwriting, we need to make sure that the size of each letter is correct and is consistent with the rest of our writing. We will be focusing on the suffixes 'ly', 'less', and 'ful'. Practice each of these joins and then add the suffix to the word. What other words can you think of that use these suffixes? Use them in some sentences.
Music
Where do you hear music? How does music make you feel? Put on different songs and think about how the song makes you feel. Does the song tell a story?
Today we would like you to either try learning a song or make a piece of music for a soundtrack to a film.
This website https://www.singup.org/singupathome/songs-for-learning/7-11 or https://www.outoftheark.co.uk/ootam-at-home/ have lots of songs with the lyrics which you can try singing! Alternatively, you can choose or even try writing a song of your own! Break the song down into parts and keep practicing until you can remember it. You could also try putting actions to the words to help you.
The document below explains the steps of writing a film soundtrack at home. Don't worry if you don't have an instrument at home, you could always make your own or use different items from around the house. There also different apps that can make music but ask any adult first.
Remember to share your work, it would be great to hear your music!
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
