The Gruffalo trail
We went on a school trip on the trail of the gruffalo. We managed to find all of the characters and enjoyed the activities that the park ranger did with us including making mouse houses, climbing on trees, making owls with natural materials and hooting like owls!
Planting carrots
Now it is spring we have started our growing topic. We have planted sunflower seeds in pots and we are looking after them indoors until they are ready to plant outside. We have also started planting in our growing box. We all worked together to plant carrot seeds. Some of the children dug a trench for the seeds, some sowed the seeds, some children covered the seeds and some watered them. We will be keeping a close eye on them and watering them regularly until they are ready to be harvested. Please support your child’s understanding of growing flowers and vegetables by talking to them about the process of growing or perhaps you could try growing some flowers or vegetables at home in a pot or in your garden. We’d love to see photographs of your efforts. Thank you for your support!
World Book Day
We wore our pyjamas for World Book day to remind us how special bedtime stories are. Our focus books were based in Africa, so we linked this theme by dancing to African music, learning an African call and response song, making animal masks and trying on traditional African clothes as well as reading lots of our favourite stories. As you can see we had a really fun day!
