Maths
In maths today we will be practicing to tell the time to the nearest 5 minutes and if you feel confident, the nearest minute.
You will need an analogue clock, either one you have made (Look at Monday's lesson) or an online one herehttps://www.topmarks.co.uk/time/teaching-clock . Ask an adult to give you some times and show them on the clock. Keep practicing until you feel confident. Complete the 'Telling the time to 5 minutes' worksheet. Mark your work to see how you did.
If you feel like you are confident enough, move on to telling the time to the nearest minute. Don't worry if you want to keep practicing to the nearest 5 minutes, you can keep practicing and come back to it :)
Time can be a bit tricky so lots of practice on a clock is important!
Remember to have a go at the flashback 4 too!
Have fun!
English
Today's work is all about similes. They are a great tool to use in creative writing to build imagery. A simile describes something by comparing it to something else using the words like or as.
Have at go at the activity 'Word pictures - using similes'(Pages 5-7). You could draw or print an animal to write your poem using similes. Looking forward to seeing them on the blog!
Science
Today in science we will be looking at plants. How many plants can you name? Can you describe them? In your garden or on a walk, try to identify different plants that you can see.
Plants are essential to life on Earth. They provide food for animals to eat; a place for animals to live and produce oxygen in the air that we breathe.
There are 7 life processes that tell you if something is alive. Do you know what any of them are? (CLUE: MRS GREN)

Plants need certain conditions to help them grow well. Do you know what they are? Have you ever looked after a plant? What did you have to do to let it grow? You could create a fact sheet all about plants and add to it as you learn more.
Could you identify the different parts of a plant? What are the jobs of the different parts? We would like you to either draw your own plant or use the parts of a plant worksheet (choose one) below to label the parts and explain the function.
